May 2026 – Payroll Timesheet Integration with Project Costing, BAS GST AI Agent

We've continued expanding Wiise with new integrations and AI-powered compliance tools.

We've continued expanding Wiise with new integrations and AI-powered compliance tools. These updates help project-based businesses get accurate labour costs into their projects without manual effort, and catch GST errors before they become BAS problems.

Job Costing — Payroll Timesheet Integration

Customers using Wiise Payroll to capture employee timesheets had no direct way to feed that time data into Wiise Project Costing. They were left choosing between purchasing expensive Team Member licenses for employees who only needed to log hours, or manually re-keying approved timesheet data into the Project module each week a process that introduced errors, delayed reporting, and meant project profitability figures couldn't be trusted.

To help you eliminate manual labour cost entry and reduce the cost of running Wiise, we've introduced a native integration from Wiise Payroll to Wiise Project Costing. Once timesheets are approved in Employment Hero, the relevant entries automatically flow into the Job Journal mapped to the correct project, task, and cost account with no manual data entry and no additional user licenses required.

Setup is a one-time configuration per project. Users define how Employment Hero Locations and Dimensions map to the relevant Wiise Job and Task. From that point, approved timesheet data flows automatically. Businesses can choose to bring in the fully burdened labour cost calculated by payroll, an estimated cost based on hours and a configured resource rate, or hours only giving them control over what cost detail is visible at the project level. Every entry carries the employee name, date, and source timesheet details so project accountants can trace any figure back to the original payroll record. Built-in validation prevents duplicate entries and surfaces clear errors if any mapping needs attention.

This ensures project managers see up-to-date labour costs as soon as they open a project, finance teams stop re-keying data, and businesses no longer need to maintain separate timesheet systems or commission custom integrations to bridge the gap.

This is especially valuable for project managers tracking labour budgets, finance managers configuring cost allocations, and business owners in construction, trades, and professional services managing multiple active jobs simultaneously.

BAS AI Agent

GST errors, wrong codes, missing classifications, non-creditable items treated as creditable were typically only discovered weeks later at BAS time. A single miscoded recurring transaction could create dozens of errors before anyone noticed. Manual review was slow, GST rules were intimidating for non-accountant staff, and every BAS cycle started from scratch with no learning from past mistakes. The result was delayed lodgements, ATO compliance risk, and accountants spending two days on remediation work every quarter instead of advisory work.

To help you catch GST errors at the source rather than weeks later at BAS time, we've introduced the BAS AI Agent an AI-powered validation engine built directly into Business Central's GST and BAS workflow.

When a user posts a transaction, the agent validates it in the background against GST rules. If an issue is detected, a contextual notification appears with a plain-language explanation of what the problem is and why it matters. Making it accessible to non-accountant staff as well as experienced bookkeepers. The user can accept the suggested fix or dismiss it, and the agent learns from every correction over time. At BAS time, a categorised issue dashboard shows exactly what needs review before lodgement.

This ensures errors are fixed at the point of entry, not discovered in bulk at quarter-end, collapsing BAS preparation from days to hours, reducing ATO compliance risk, and freeing accountants to focus on higher-value work.

This is especially valuable for accountants, bookkeepers, and finance teams managing GST compliance particularly in businesses where non-accountant staff are responsible for day-to-day transaction posting.
