Why create a sales credit note from a posted sales return order?
A sales return order is considered incomplete until it is conclusively processed into a sales credit note. At that point, the customer's account is duly credited as requested.
How to post a sales return order into a sales credit note?
Here are steps to post your sales return order into a sales credit note. The steps depend on the location you’ve set up to receive the goods.
- Search for Sales Return Orders from the top right-hand corner of your page and select the related link.
- The sales return order list displays. Select an existing sales return order on location where you’ve already received the goods that you want to post into a sales credit note.
Note: If you haven’t already, find out how to create a sales return order on location with an inventory put-away option enabled or warehouse put-away option enabled before you create a sales credit note from a posted sales return order on location.
Note: You can search for the sales return orders from the customer card or select Sales from the Wiise landing page, then select Sales Return Orders. - The sales return order card displays.
- Select Home, then select Post. Select Post again.
- A message box displays requesting you to select Receive, Invoice or Receive and Invoice.
- Select Receive and Invoice to complete the process. This action posts the sales return order and creates a corresponding sales credit note.
- Confirm the posting. Select Yes to proceed.
- A message box displays confirming that the sales returns order is posted into a sales cr/adj note.
- Select Yes to open the posted cr/adj note or No to stay on the page.
- You’ve now posted a sales return order on location into a sales credit note.
Note: The Adjustment Details section requires a reason code to be filled in before you can post the sales return order into a Sales CR/Adj note. The reason code cannot be left blank. You’ll need to update the Adjustment Applies-to field to the related order number.
Note: Once you’ve posted your sales return order into a sales credit note, you can print or email the sales credit note to the customer.
