Use Requisition Worksheet in planning and managing inventory purchases

Why use the requisition worksheet? 


Use the requisition worksheet to streamline and automate a reordering process using forecasting with predefined criteria like reorder points and inventory levels for items that can be replenished by enabling bulk purchase orders for your business with your suppliers ensuring that your inventory levels for items are stocked. 

How to use the requisition worksheet? 

  1. Search for Requisition Worksheets on the top right-hand corner of the page. Select the related link. The Req. Worksheet Template List displays.  
  2. Select an appropriate requisition worksheet template to apply for the Requisition Worksheet page. Select OK to continue. The page displays. 
  3. Select Home. Then, select Calculate Plan to use a batch job to assist in calculating a supply plan for items and stockkeeping units with the replenishment system field set to Purchase. This process populates multiple items and stockkeeping units on your requisition worksheet.

  4. The Calculate Plan – Req. Wksh. request page displays.

    1. In the Options section, set a Starting Date and Ending Date.  
      1. The Starting Date field indicates the date for new orders used to assess inventory. 
      2. The Ending Date field indicates the date when the planning period ends. Demand is not included beyond this date. 
      3. The Use Forecast field is a forecast you’ve set up that should be included as demand when running the planning batch job. 
      4. Enable the toggle button for Respect Planning Parameters for Supply Triggered by Safety Stock: If you enable this button, planning lines triggered by safety stock will follow the planning parameters such as Reorder Point, Reorder Quantity, and Maximum Inventory, as well as all order modifiers. If you do not check this box, planning lines will only meet the exact demand quantity. 
    2. Include filters in the Item section if required.  
    3. Select OK to continue. 
  5. The Requisition Worksheet displays all items that are required to be purchased.

  6. When you’ve reviewed the requisition worksheet list and updated which items need to be reordered, select Process, then select Carry Out Action Message. The carry-out action message uses the batch job to help you create actual purchase orders. The Carry Out Action Msg.  - Req request page displays.

    1. Enable the Print Orders toggle button. This function prints all purchase orders. 
    2. Select OK to proceed with the action or select Cancel to stay on the page.  
    3. You’ll now see that the system has printed the new purchase orders.

  7. You’ve used the requisition worksheet in planning and managing inventory purchases. Next, you can forward the purchase order to your vendor to complete the purchase.
