Why set up a timesheet?
Employees can enter and submit their work hours directly into Wiise using timesheets. You can then post the timesheet details to the job journal, which records transactions.
How to set up a timesheet?
Here are the steps to set up a timesheet in Wiise.
- Select Wiise Payroll from your Wiise landing page. Then, select Setup.
- Select the pencil icon to edit to the Setup page.
- Timesheets section:
- Enable the toggle for Enabled.
- Select a Work Type.
Note: You can set up the default Work Types for timesheet entries that typically include the following: normal time, overtime, sick leave, annual leave, public holidays or training. These can vary based on the specific setup of your system. - Select the Approver ID who’s responsible for approving timesheets.
- In Data Entry Method field, select either Start/end times by date or Enter no. hours per day. This is how you select the format and layout of your timesheets.
- General section:
- When you’ve updated the Timesheet section, select the Wiise Payroll Business ID link. This takes you to the Wiise Payroll site where you can set up timesheets for your employees.
Note: You can still use Wiise timesheets without Wiise Payroll. Wiise timesheets lets you add timesheet information to your journals in Wiise. Employees can also use the mobile experience to enter their work details. You’ll need to create resources in Wiise.
- When you’ve updated the Timesheet section, select the Wiise Payroll Business ID link. This takes you to the Wiise Payroll site where you can set up timesheets for your employees.
- Timesheets section:
- You’ve set up timesheets in Wiise.
Set up timesheets in Wiise Payroll
Here are the steps to set up timesheets in Wiise Payroll
- Select Payroll Settings from your Wiise Payroll dashboard.
- Select Timesheets in the Business Management section.
Note: The timesheet settings that you set up here allow employees to enter their hours through the Employee Self Setup portal, while managers can do the same through the Employee Management portal. It also supports importing timesheets, making it easy to upload data. - Select to enable the Require start/end times when entering timesheets checkbox.
Note: If Require start/end times when entering timesheets checkbox is unticked, employees can enter total hours worked each day instead of start and end times. However, if pay conditions or awards apply, start and end times should be mandatory. - Select Save. You’ve completed updating this section.
Note: When you set up employees in Wiise Payroll, allow employees to use timesheets. - You’ve set up timesheets in Wiise Payroll.
