Why set up notifications for approval users? 


Workflow notifications inform users when action is required in a workflow step. Notifications can be sent via email or as a system note, and each notification is linked to an approval entry. 

How to set up notifications for approval users? 

  1. Open the Approval User Setup page.  
  2. Select the User ID row you want to update. Then, select Notification Setup from the action menu.

  3. The Workflow Notification Setup for the selected user displays.

  4. Fill in the following details: 
    1. Notification Type: Defines the event that triggers the notification. 
      1. New Record: Notifies the user about a new document or task that requires action. 
      2. Approval: Notifies the user about one or more approval requests awaiting their decision. 
      3. Overdue: Reminds the user of overdue actions. 
    2. Notification Method: Select Email or Note as the notification type. 
    3. Schedule: Defines when the user receives notifications. Select Instantly to open the Notification Schedule page.

    4. Update the following fields based on the notification frequency: 
    5. Recurrence: Select how often notifications are sent. Options include: 
      1. Instantly: Notifications are sent immediately. Time option is disabled. 
      2. Daily: Notifications are sent once per day.  
        1. Set the Time for when the notification is sent. 
        2. Select Weekday for notifications only on workdays or Daily for all days.

      3. Weekly: Select specific days and set the Time for notifications.

      4. Monthly: Select a Notification Date:  
        1. First Workday 
        2. Last Workday 
        3. Custom Date of the Month

  5. You’ve set up notifications for approval users.  

Note: To use email notifications, ensure that email is set up for both the sender and recipient in Wiise.
