Set Up Item Tracking for Batch Transactions

  • Learn to set up item tracking for batch transactions 

Note: To track items by batch number, you need to set up item tracking on the item card and use Item Tracking Lines when processing transactions. 

Why Set Up Item Tracking Code? 

Set up an item tracking code to track items by serial or batch number. This helps you manage expiry dates, trace items if there's a problem, and keep better control of your stock. 

How to Set Up Item Tracking Code? 

  1. Go to your relevant Item Card. Then, update the Item Tracking Code in the Item Tracking section.

    1. Item tracking Code: Select a code that includes Lot (Batch) tracking.
       
      Note: If you don’t have a suitable tracking code, set one up. Open the Item Tracking Code Card and view details.
      1. Select the drop-down arrow on the Item Tracking Code field. Highlight an existing code. Then, select Show details.

      2. The Item Tracking Code Card displays.

      3. Update the Code and Description.  

        Note: Leave the Serial No. Tracking fields unchecked, unless you track the items by serial numbers.  
      4. Enable Lot Tracking in Lot No. Section.
