Why set up a fixed asset journal template?
A Fixed Asset Journal Template ensures consistency when recording fixed asset transactions.
How to set up a fixed asset journal template?
- Search for FA Journal Templates on the top right-hand corner of the page.
- Select the related link. The administration page displays.
- Select +New action menu to set up a new FA journal template.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Name: Enter a unique name for the journal template
- Description: Provide a brief description of the journal template
- No. Series: Specify unique identifier or document number to the journal entries.
- Posting No. Series: This is optional. You can assign a unique identifier to the resulting ledger entries when the journal is posted.
- Recurring: Select the checkbox if the journal template is for recurring entries.
- Source Code: Shows where the entry was created.
- Reason code: An optional supplementary code used to trace the entry.
- Increment Batch Name: Select this checkbox to automatically increment batch names for the journal template. This is optional.
- You’ve set up a FA journal template.
Note: Select Batches action menu in the FA Journal Templates page to set up the FA Journal Batches and fill in the required fields.
